Barbados is home to beautiful white sand beaches with calm turquoise waters, which gently lap the shores of its South and West coasts… and contrasting Atlantic Ocean waves crash against its rugged East coast. This small Caribbean island is safe, it’s fun, has loads of things to see & do and it provides the perfect getaway for a family with children. When you’re travelling with kids, you’ll definitely want to stay at one the very best child-friendly (and conveniently all-inclusive) family resorts in Barbados that has its own kids club and children’s swimming pool. Barbados is an ideal holiday or vacation destination for kids who love spotting crabs and green monkeys, families who love beach-hopping and taking road trips, and people who love good, authentic food!

1. Hilton Barbados Resort (We’ve Stayed Here!)
Distance from Grantley Adams airport: 15 minutes by car or taxi
Kids pool: Yes
Kids club age-range: 4 – 12 years old
Babysitting service: Yes, available at a charge
All-inclusive: No
Our rating: 4 out of 5
Exclusively situated on the Needham’s Point peninsula – among the 17th century ruins of Charles Fort on Barbados’ south coast – the 4-and-a-half-star Hilton Barbados Resort is nestled between two beaches and is only a 5-minute drive from Barbados’ capital city, Bridgetown. The hotel features a large outdoor pool complex consisting of two large pools, a waterfall and a smaller kids pool. Catering to their younger guests, The Hilton’s Kidz Paradise Club is open daily from 9am to 5:30pm and separates children into two groups; the Groovy Kidz group (4 to 7 years old) and the Cool Kidz group (8 to 12 years old). Daily activities include watching movies, playing PlayStation 2 games, going on treasure hunts and listening to stories at story time.
Our Review of the Hilton Barbados Resort:
We stayed at this resort as a family of three and our daughter was 3 years old at the time. We all really enjoyed our 7 nights at the hotel, especially the generous choice of pools to choose from, the tasty fish cakes (and rum punch!) at the pool bar and the super-easy access to the hotel’s two private beaches. Another bonus is that the hotel car park backs on to Carlisle Bay – home to Brownes Beach, Bayshore Beach and Pebbles Beach, which happens to be one of the best beaches in Barbados.
The Hilton is not all-inclusive, and the only thing we didn’t like about the hotel was the price of the food and drinks, which we found jaw-droppingly expensive. This issue isn’t really unique to the Hilton though, as Barbados is expensive in general. On the positive side, if you have a child aged 5 or under (like we did), their meals at the Hilton Barbados Resort are free with the purchase of an adult meal. All in all, we’d definitely recommend The Hilton for an enjoyable family trip.
